5th Delft Symposium on Water Sector Capacity Development DEVELOPING CAPACITY FROM RIO TO REALITY - WHO'S TAKING THE LEAD? 29-31 May 2013 - Delft

From 29 to 31 May 2013, the 5th Delft Symposium on Water Sector Capacity Development will be organised in Delft, the Netherlands. The Symposium will be organised by UNESCO-IHE, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank, Cap-Net UNDP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Vitens-Evides International.
In the face of rising challenges for, and mixed experiences with, water sector capacity development, the 5th Delft Symposium will address: Who is taking the lead in knowledge and capacity development across sectors, disciplines and other boundaries so it can be leveraged to become more effective and efficient?

We would like to announce that the Deadline for the Call for Abstracts for the 5th Delft Symposium on Water Sector Capacity Development has been extended to 4 January 2013! We invite abstracts of high-quality papers with particular attention to the focus of the Symposium on leadership.

In addition to submissions of abstracts (max. 500 words) by academics, we especially encourage submissions from practitioners, professionals and policy makers who can speak to the effectiveness and efficiency of capacity development in the water sector. Papers reporting original findings in relation to the identified themes are particularly welcome.

Please find detailed information about the Call for Abstracts and the themes of the Symposium via www.unesco-ihe.org/cdsymposium .
